We are known as Aspland, Marcon & Lushington, Tenants And Residents Association (TRA).

A tenants' or residents' group is a group of people who get together from an area, estate, block or community to discuss how they can tackle issues that affect them and their community.

Aims:

  • We promote the interests of all residents of the area, and assist in maintaining good relations between all members of the community in consultation with Hackney Homes, the local authority and other bodies.

  • We promote and represent all residents’ rights and the maintenance and improvement of housing conditions, amenities and the environment. To provide facilities for recreation and amenities and to encourage a community spirit and benefit.

  • We promote equal opportunities by being positively committed to opposing all direct and indirect discrimination in all its activities and services.

  • We work towards encouraging all members of usually excluded groups to participate in the association. Encouraging participation of hard to reach groups and seeks to implement a programme of positive action, by ensuring no member receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, sex, age, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnerships, sexual orientation and disability.

  • We raise monies by or on behalf of the Association that shall only be applied in the furtherance of the objectives of the Association.
